Colophon
“Colophon” comes from the Greek “κολοφων,” meaning ‘a summit,’ ‘top,’ ‘finishing.’ It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication, often found on the last few pages of a book.
Typography
The logo was created by Jason Pickleman at jnl graphic design, and was set in Franklin Gothic Book. The website body text, headers, and navigation is set in Arial; image subtitles in Verdana, a typeface designed for legibility at smaller point sizes.
Design
Neoteric Design designed and developed this site, based on a concept from JNL. Neoteric redesigns websites with a focus on customer needs, site goals, ease of use and engaging design. A design refresh was completed in 2007, and directed by Museum staff as well as the Columbia College marketing department.
