MoCP Presents: Picture Me Student Exhibition

Mana Contemporary Chicago

About The Event

May 5-6, 11am-5pm
May 7, 12-4pm

Now in its fifteenth year, this annual student exhibition features works made by teens who participate in Picture Me, an afterschool photography program sponsored by the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago (MoCP) at three Chicago high schools: Curie Metropolitan High School, Juarez Community Academy, and Nicholas Senn High School. This year, we’re pleased to announce that the Picture Me student exhibition will be held in a new location – Mana Contemporary Chicago, located at 2233 S. Throop. The exhibition will be open to the public on Thursday May 5 and Friday, May 6 from 11am-5pm, and on Saturday, May 7, from 12-4pm, with a special closing reception at 2pm.

Co-taught by teams of working artists, this program cultivates teens as independent artists who gain a strong technical foundation as they work toward developing their own artistic vision and style through independent projects. Examining and discussing the work of professional artists is integral to the program and the curriculum is further enhanced by field trips to the MoCP and other cultural venues and contact with visiting artists.

Generous Support of Picture Me provided by the Phillip and Edith Leonian Foundation
