About The Event

Join us for a symposium exploring topics relating to Dawit L. Petros’s Prospetto a Mare. Sessions will address the global legacies of Italian colonialism, the architectural imprint of colonial power at the Chicago World’s Fairs of 1893 and 1933-1934, and the relationship of Petros’s practice to abstraction and other contemporary artists. Participating scholars include Lindsay Caplan, Mikolaj Czerwinski, Teresa Fiore, Cristina Lombardi-Diop, Onur Öztürk, Angelica Pesarini, Dawit L. Petros, Lisa Schrenk, and Yuan-Chih (Sreddy) Yen.
